Hello everybody, today I’m going to talk about my learning of English.

Well… this year, a part of my class was English, in the first semester I was in the third level and… amazingly I can pass to English 4!

It’s a good experience, because I can meet new people and I can practice my prehistoric English.

When you talk with other people, they can help you when you’re wrong or you help them… it’s a good option when you need to practice your pronunciation.

I must confess that I've never written in English before, so it was a big challenge when I must create a blog and write in there every week! But today I think it’s excellent to practice your vocabulary… I’ll miss writing every week in my blog :c 

Unfortunately, it’s difficult for me the activities about “listening”, I think that the British English has a really hard accent! They talk so fast! And they often use phrases that I don’t understand…

So I think that in other challenge- for my list of challenges- will be practicing the “listening”, I think that I’ll listen to more music in English and watch movies without subtitles… Do you think it’s a good method to get better my listening?

I guess that thanks the class today I can talk English without fear and I really wish get better English and learn other languages, I think that it’s important for my formation of student of social work.

I almost forget it! From now I’ll use more English outside the class!

Hello everybody, today I’m going to talk about some reflections about my year…

Well, this year I join to university, so I think that that is a good experience, I met wonderful people and I have learned many things. As well as, this year I have a job, this is important too.

I think that the most important thing that occurred in this year it’s that I met really good persons in the university. Initially, I thought that the university will be ghastly (well, sometimes it’s) and the people will be competitive and unfriendly, but that the reality it’s that the people are very nice… Even, I can say that I have some friends.

In other side, my cousin is married and my other cousin will have a baby! This it’s important for me, because I will be a godmother!. As well as, I think that I’ve grown and my mom relies more on me… that it’s a really important for me, because now I can live alone in my department.

Well, like the life it’s a roller coaster, the bad things in this year are that I broke with my boyfriend (the reality it’s that it’s a good fact) and my cat, Janis, died.

My achievements are two; the first is that I could pass my first semester! And the second are that I learned cook! So, now I will don't die when my mother will don't be with me!

My goals for the next year will be learn portugues, adopt more cats and pass my entire subject!

Well, nonetheless I guess that 2015 was a good year.

Hello everyone, today I’m going to talk about my Summer Plans.

Well, I’m not sure about my summer plans, because I think that this semester I must take exams, so I guess my holydays will begin in the second fortnight of January.

All of my Holidays I travel to Coquimbo, because my dad lives there and he has a house and obviously I love “La Herradura”, as well as, my entire family 

lives there, and I miss them.

Coquimbo is a perfectly place to rest, as I need to rest and sleep, I think it’s a good option for my holidays.

But, also I must work because I need money to my holidays! So I think I will stay in Santiago   January and my holidays will star in February, and in that month I’m invited to Molina (town of Curico). In there a university friend lives. 

He told me that in Molina we can to camp in the mountain range. I guess that that will be fun, because others friends will go with us.

And my uncle invited me to “Bahía Inglesa” , I've never visited it before, but my brother told me that “Bahía Inglesa” is a beautiful place, so I think it is a good option too.

The reality is that I don’t know what to do this summer! I got a lot of options but I’m not sure about anything

Can you help me to decide? I really need your help!

Hello everyone!

Today I’m going to talk about my favorite TV serie “Criminal minds”.

According to Wikipedia, Criminal Minds, is an American police procedural created by Jeff Davis and with ten complete seasons on aired.

Criminal Minds differs from many procedural dramas by focusing on profiling the criminal, called the unsub or "unknown subject", rather than the actual crime itself. The focal point of the series follows a talented group of FBI profilers who set about catching various criminals through behavioral profiling. The plot focuses on the team working cases and the personal lives of the characters, depicting the hardened life and statutory requirements of a profiler (Wikipedia)

Well, I love criminal psychology, so when I met this serie I can’t stop to watch it. I think that Criminal Minds have all that a TV serie need for to be a perfect serie… action, hot men and weapons.

My favorite character are Spencer Reid, he is a genius so he always discovered the serial killer. In addition, he is so cute and he knows magic!

Unfortunately, I’ve never been able to watch all the seasons, because I don’t have much time L but I really wish watch it in holidays.

Others series that I like are: Grey’s Anatomy, How I met your Mother, The big bang theory and Dr. House.

Hello everyone, today I’m going to talk about my Pets!

First of all, I love the animals and I have six pets! One dog, his name is Boby and it’s a “hot dog”, he was a gift for my uncle and he lives in Coquimbo with my grandmother.

Also, I have three cats: Lanucho, Zorro and Kira, the last one is the only that lives with me, because I adopted a few months ago. Lanucho and Zorro lives with my father in Coquimbo.

And finally, I have two canaries, their names are Violeta and Teddy.  

But, I must confess that my favorite animals are the Cats! In my life I've had eight cats (not the same time unfortunately) and I've loved each one of them.

Because I can’t control myself when see abandon cats in the street. In fact, with my brother and him girlfriend we adopted to Janis, she was abandon in Vicuña because she was naughty. Unfortunately, Janis died on May.

My family and I were so sad because she was a beautiful and good cat; she loved play with the cap of the bottle and always drinks water from the key! She was a strange cat, but we loved for that.

Food

First of all… I LOVE THE FOOD, especially home-food because my mother cooks very well. Thanks her I can eat all types of food.

My favorite plate is “lasagna” and the vegetables cake!

With my friends, we always look for new restaurants that serve traditional food from others countries. And the last one, we went to “Alabam”, in there they cook arabe food… are delicious.

The best of this restaurant is that they received JUNAEB, so you can eat there if you don’t have much money.

But, my favorite restaurant is “Evergreen”, it’s a vegetarian restaurant located in Santiago, near to Paseo Bulnes. It had a “buffet” kind of style so you can eat a lot for not much money, unfortunately it no received Junaeb.

The menu has so many options for example: vegetable cake, pancakes for desert, a variety of drinks, and so many other that I can't remember. Unfortunately it no received JUNAEB.

Hello everyone!

Today I’m talk to you about my holidays. I usually go to Coquimbo, because there live all my family and my father had a house.

Well, sometimes I feel boring in Coquimbo because I know everything about Coquimbo, his history, his touristic area and his beach’s, and I don’t have much friends there, so some years were a boring holidays.

But, the last holidays I went with my best friend Javiera and obviously was amazing holidays!  She is a beautiful and funny person.

We did everything! We gone to the beach every day, we sailed on catamaran and camped in Valle del Elqui.

We met wonderful people and places! In fact, Javiera met her actually boyfriend in Valle del Elqui.

Unfortunately, the holidays was shot (3 weeks), but we planned go this year again, but     other place, for example Osorno.

Sadly, Coquimbo surfer an earthquake, so his beach and touristic areas are destroyed and a lot of family’s loser everything!

I really wish that everything get better. 

It’s very hard choosing a song, but recently I hear a song and I can’t stop to hear it!

The first time I hear it, I was with my sister in the beach and we were listen music from her cell phone, she loves this song too.

The song is “Riptide” of Vance Joy, it’s so beautiful!

I think that the theme of song is about a boy who loves a girl and how he tries to rescue her, because she always chooses badly her boyfriends. The song it’s very deep, because she is a little “masochistic”, so she always returns to “riptide” and the darkness, so he always back to rescue her.

I guess he always do it, because he love all about her, with her virtue and her imperfection, and he really think that they are destined.

On the other hand, the music is perfect for the letter, the guitar and the voice for Vance Joy sound together very nice! And the video It’s perfect, because represent the song and the letter perfectly.

But, I must confess that I prefer the acoustic version, because I can feel the emotion in my skin.

Obviously, when I hear this song I singing very hard!  

I really want you love this song like me, it’s a really beautiful song and I love it.

My favorite band?

I can’t decide what’s my favorite band, because I love music, and I had many favorites’ bands and singer. But recently I’m obsessed with Taylor Swift, in fact I’m obsessed with a song of her. I don`t konw why , because I don’t really like her kind of music but I can’t stop to hear it!

So, I don’t know so much about Taylor Swift, I know she is a very popular and was born in USA as well as at first she sing country, but her last disc is Pop kind.

So, my favorite song is “Blank Space”, I really don’t know why like this song, but I think that song attract me for the lyrics and chord (the lyrics is a little creepy because she talk about that a woman whit two personality and her boyfriend… It’s a really creepy song)

And the video is so amazing! I think that the video was so expensive, because it’s has a big production, but also is creepy. In this video, she acts like a crazy woman.

So, I wait you like this song, is special when you are angry with your boyfriend or girlfriend.

Inmigrant and Social Work

Just recently, I went to a commune in Santiago, Quilicura, with my classmates and IOM (International Organization for Migration) to interview the Immigrant People that lived there. Their reality was quite hard. To be faced with this situation, with the Immigrants themselves, to learn their precarious way of living and to know how hard is for them to live without their families in our country, it helped me to realize that something must be done.

Nowadays, our country does not have an effective legislation that shelters and covers the needs of Immigrants, people who see in Chile a place to improve their situation, and that is why there must be a necessity to know and to truly see and learn about the Immigrants situation, in order to give them a proper solution.

I believe that if this issue was more widespread, as well as the Immigrants contribution to our country, this would generate social pressure that would show the necessity to create laws that adress the main needs of immigrants, since none of this is guaranteed. 

Personally, I think that Social Work is a profession that must be in charge of said process, since it has the tools to permit this change. Besides, nowadays, immigrants are a social phenomenom that Social Work  has been very aware of for quite a time, and being that this profession seeks to investigate and find a solution to social problems, immigrations being one of them, Social Work cannot ignore it.

I must confess that I don’t know very much about technology, I know that’s very sad, but I wanted to learn.  At least, I can download music and movies and I can clean my computer with the  antivirus software.

But I can use my cell phone, very well indeed. I think that the cell phones are mini computers but more simple. My cell phone in specially are very cute, because I love buy accessories for it. I have my cell phone since November 2014, was a gift of my parents for my graduation.  

I think I use my cell phone 10 hours a day, because I used it for everything. I read news and books, and also I can listen to music and surf on internet at the same time.

My favorite cell game is Springfield city, I love it! But i can`t play everytime, beacuase I need internet for used it.

In this selfie I am with my best friend, his name is Isaac and he is the person that makes my life wonderful. We took it on a winter's day in Parque Bustamante, after a long walk through the streets of Santiago.

To me, this photo is special, because it shows the beauty of our smiles in a way that is spontaneous, because the photo itself was a photographic success. We were playing around with the camera and making faces and by mistake this beautiful picture came out, where you can totally see our happiness. I like the way that the photo wasn’t planned at all. To me, the most beautiful photos are the ones that replicate true happiness that you can feel in a moment without planning so.

Me and Isaac have an album full of photos, being that every time we went out together, we take a billion of pictures (some uglier than others), to portray that we had an amazing day. Every time I feel bored, I look at our photos and remember when and why we took it and I can’t help the smile on my face.

We love to take funny pictures so much, that we installed an app in our phones called Snapchat, that allow us to send each other pictures, but the one receiving it only has a few seconds to see it. When I’m feeling down, Isaac always sends me a funny picture through it to make my day better. He always does.

I madly love my best friend and adore to take pictures with him.

My favorite place to eat out it is called "Evergreen", a vegetarian restaurant located in Santiago, near Paseo Bulnes. I love it, because it has a buffet kind of style, and is not expensive at all, so that's great! Even though I’m not a vegetarian myself, I always like to try new recipes based on vegetables only, and since it’s a pleasant, quiet and nice place, I always comeback. It teaches me to eat healthy without expending so mucho money.

My favorite meal is the vegetable cake, because it has different kinds of vegetables and it’s so colorful and it’s so good! But the menu has so many different kinds other options to choose from, for example, salads, burgers (vegetarian of course), pancakes for dessert, a variety of drinks, and so many other that I can’t seem to remember now!

The first time I went with my family, it was after my graduation ceremony and the food was so exquisite that I can’t stop going since! So I totally recommend stopping by and giving it a try. I think I’ll take my friend there so they can be as in love with that restaurant as I am.

I like Santiago, because it’s always awake and it seems to never stop. 

First of all, I like finding culture as I walk down the streets, in them or the buildings and constructions, and I love the multiples opportunities that in general the city can give. But sometimes, when I need to escape, I go to the beach or to the country, because Santiago is very vertiginous and people are rude when they’re tired. So, sometimes I need to take break in the beach.

I also like that Santiago is near to beach and the mountains with wonderful landscapes just  in one hour driving.
But, nothing is perfect, in Santiago, doesn´t have many green areas and  the air it’s always so contaminated…If I can, I wish to change that.

For this reason, my favorite place is Parque Forestal, it’s a huge park with huge trees, which makes autumn a wonderful show when it comes. Every day, many people visit this place finding a little moments of peace and tranquility, specially for foreing people. Definitely  recommended this place.

My favorite page of internet is twitter. I love Twitter, I think I visit this page two or three hours every day, because I can use it as a personal diary and put my opinions and emotions into words.

Also, I can follow my favorite artists and find out everything they’re doing by reading their tweets. And if I get lucky, I can “talk” to them. All this in the same time!

However, this is not the only page I frequently use. In fact, I use Facebook more, because Twitter is not famous, so not many people use it as a social network, so if I need to talk to someone, I use Facebook or Whatsapp.So, basically, I love Twitter, so if you have one, follow me: @melysongaaa
